I use an integrative theoretical orientation
when assessing and treating my clients. I use
the following approaches as part of my integrative
orientation: (1) The Humanistic Approach (client-centered
therapy), (2) The Cognitive Approach (rational-emotive
therapy), (3) The Psychodynamic Approach (free
association/hypnosis), and (4) The Eastern Psychology
Approach (meditation, relaxation, breathing
techniques, positive auto-suggestions, positive
programming of the mind, etc.) and Mindfulness
Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT).
It is also important to note, that I use
other approaches as necessary.
Some of my strengths include establishing
rapport with clients and their families, utilizing
a variety of therapy techniques, and demonstrating
flexibility with clients.
Being a US citizen of a different cultural
background myself, I know firsthand the importance
of understanding a client’s cultural background.
I think it is very important to keep a client’s
background in mind as it can affect the way
one approaches treatment. When assessing and
treating clients, I feel that I am most effective
when I am able to understand the “entire” client.
This involves understanding the client’s familial,
socio-economical, educational, emotional, and
physiological background. In order to ensure
that all of my clients gain happiness, peace,
success, and sound health, I take into consideration
their language, culture, education, and age
when I provide therapy.
I was brought up in a cultural and family-oriented
environment. Hence, I started to practice Yoga
at the age of 8 years. Currently, I am a Certified
Yoga Instructor. I underwent intensive training
from Swami Vivekananda Yoga Anusandhana Samsthana
(SVYASA), a deemed university which is recognized
by Government of India, Ministry of HRD through
UGC. The Certificate entitles me to teach yoga
in any part of the World.
Having the curiosity to know what are Mind,
Brain, Body, and Soul and how to approach and
experience them, I have developed "Anand Meditation"
through a deep study of Western Psychology,
Eastern Psychology-Philosophy, Yoga and Pranayama
(breathing techniques/exercises), Energy healing,
Bio-feedback, Hypnosis, Neuro-linguistic programming,
Progressive muscle relaxation, Visualization,
Auto-suggestions, Music therapy, Spirituality
and Prayer.
My experience as a licensed professional
counselor, hypnotherapist and as a certified
yoga Instructor helped me with this development.
“Anand” means “Bliss”, so “Anand Meditation”
can give us heavenly peace and bliss. We can
forget our pain, sorrows, sufferings and grief,
and we can enjoy a very relaxed state of the
mind. It can provide one with health, happiness,
peace, and success to enjoy life fully. Happiness
and sound health are goals of life, and “Anand
Meditation” is a key to attain these goals.
There are no negative effects of “Anand Meditation.”
Its effects are always positive. “Anand Meditation”
is a safe and harmless way to discover your
inner soul/ consciousness/ sub-conscious mind,
allowing you to make beneficial changes that
you desire, quickly and comfortably. So come
and experience heavenly peace and bliss.
